Company Development Milestones

2010

CHANGHU PINGFANG WHEELCHAIR CO., LTD. was established, focusing on the R&D and production of wheelchairs for the elderly and people with disabilities. The company covers an area of over 30,000 square meters, with a factory floor space of 20,000 square meters, and an annual production capacity of 35,000 wheelchairs. In its early days, the company focused on electric wheelchairs as its main product. The image below shows our first-generation foldable, Lightweight Electric Wheelchair, which was among the earliest models of its kind in China and even the world.

2014

The company received its first invention patent. To date, Pingfang Wheelchair holds 93 patents in thE Wheelchair technology field. These patents focus on three major areas: foldable and portable designs, electric and intelligent functions, and sports and medical adaptability – continuously optimized based on market demands.

In November 2014, leveraging superior quality and innovative design, the company not only gained high recognition and reputation in the domestic market but also successfully entered high-end medical markets in the United States, Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, and other regions. That same month, the company was also included in an overseas medical insurance system for the first time, further demonstrating its international competitiveness and recognition.

2021

In December 2021, an international standard for which the company participated as a first-time drafter was officially released. This achievement embodies years of effort in technology R&D, product innovation, and deep industry insight. It sets detailed and strict specifications for wheelchair design, production, quality inspection, and other processes, exerting a profound impact on the development of China’s wheelchair industry. The release of this national standard serves as strong endorsement of the brand’s strength and industry position.

2022

In March 2022, "Pingfang Wheelchair Shines at the Winter Paralympics: Domestic Technology Supports the Snow and Ice Arena." Our products made their debut at this world-class disability winter sports event. As the designated service provider for the National Wheelchair Basketball Team, the company’s deep expertise in wheelchair R&D and production added a unique touch of "Chinese technological brilliance" to the event.

2023

In June 2023, Pingfang Wheelchair extended warmth to Malawi, crossing borders with hope. On the path of public welfare for the disabled, the company delivered care to Malawi, Africa, demonstrating corporate compassion and an international humanitarian spirit.

2024

On August 29, 2024, the 17th Summer Paralympic Games grandly opened in Paris. The company’s latest R&D achievement, a split-type smart electric wheelchair, served as the "ride" for some Chinese Paralympic athletes, capturing widespread attention.
