Double Gold in 48 Hours: Pingfang’s Cao Ningning Shines at National Games

December 16, 2025, Changshu, Jiangsu – Cao Ningning, an employee of Changshu Pingfang Wheelchair Co., Ltd. from Shanghu Town, delivered a stunning performance at the 12th National Paralympic Games & 9th National Special Olympics, jointly held in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao from December 8 to 15. Within less than 48 hours, he secured two gold medals in table tennis, powerfully embodying the Paralympic spirit and winning glory for his hometown and company.

On December 7, in the TT4-5 team event, Cao Ningning, demonstrating seamless teamwork and relentless effort, advanced through the competition to claim the gold medal, marking a brilliant start to his campaign. Merely a day later, on December 8, Cao teamed up with Gu Xiaodan in the XD10 mixed doubles final. Their exquisite skills, flexible tactical adjustments, and tenacious competitive spirit led to a 3:1 victory, earning Cao his second gold of the Games and showcasing remarkable composure and collaborative strength. Cao's journey continues as he is set to compete for medals in the upcoming men's TT5 singles and doubles events, with high hopes for further success.

Now 38, Cao's table tennis journey began in May 2000 when the 13-year-old learned that children using wheelchairs could also play the sport. He immediately signed up for training, forging an unbreakable bond with the table tennis court. Over the years, upholding the Paralympic values of "Courage, Determination, Inspiration, and Equality," he has overcome physical challenges through daily, intensive training. His dedication has translated into outstanding achievements across national and international competitions, where he has frequently won singles and team titles in his classification. His accolades extend beyond sports, including honors such as the "National May 1st Labor Medal," "China Youth May 4th Medal," "Jiangsu Provincial Labor Model," and "Jiangsu Provincial New Long March Pace-setter." Cao's story is a testament to the indomitable and striving spirit of persons with disabilities.
